Patients presenting to hospitals and / or outpatient environments can sometimes be struggling with behavioral health symptoms such as depression, anxiety or addictions. While patients with medical stressors may present with symptoms that may be more tangible than those with behavioral health symptoms, we all have the responsibility to provide the best care for all of our patients as comprehensively and expeditiously as possible.

We assist healthcare teams with:

  • Developing the triage skills necessary to assess mental health / behavioral acuity.
  • Workshop facilitation and training for healthcare professionals to sharpen their assessment skills and knowledge of behavioral health symptoms.
  • Education about the risk factors associated with behavioral symptoms as well as the skills to navigate these risk factors in fast-paced, clinical environments such as emergency departments and intensive care units.
  • Training and assistance with the development of skills to manage patient aggressiveness and challenging situations in overstimulating healthcare environments.
  • Assistance with the development of collaborative relationships with families, internal and external providers across levels of care.

The team at Critical Success Strategies has also developed a comprehensive and innovative training program to assist your hospital with decreasing the time-in-department (t.i.d.) for patients presenting with primary or co-occurring behavioral health symptoms utilizing the Emergency Department as the point of entry and extending through your hospital.

The end result?

More comprehensive care for patients and their families, tighter collaboration between providers across levels of care (a J.C.A.H.O. patient safety goal) and increased patient satisfaction.
